Burneside Community Energy

Share Offer Launch 7pm, 24th October 2018

The Bryce Institute, Burneside

Burneside Community Energy is a community benefit society generating solar PV electricity on the roof of James Cropper plc, with all surplus income dedicated to supporting good causes within the Parish.

In 2015 we successfully raised £250,000 from local shareholders to install 250kW of solar PV. That system has been running above expectations and we have been able to put aside £5,000 for community projects. We are now planning our second installation of solar PV, again in partnership with James Cropper plc.

We aim to raise £350,000, by offering further shares in BCE, which we expect will generate annual interest of over 4.5%. Residents of Burneside and employees of James Cropper will have priority to buy these shares.

If you are interested in finding out more about this exciting new project, please watch this space, and come along to our Launch on Wednesday 24th October 7pm in the Bryce Institute.  The share offer will close when the target is met, or on Friday 21st November, which ever is the earlier.

More information will appear here in the next few days. For more info, please email bce@cafs.org.uk, or call Cumbria Action for Sustainability on 01768 210 276.
