Launch of Killington Reservoir Hydro Scheme
with Rt. Hon. Mr Tim Farron MP
All members of Community Energy Cumbria, family and friends are invited to the launch of your new hydro scheme at Killington Reservoir.
Our special guest, the Right Honourable Tim Farron, MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, will unveil a plaque at the foot of the dam. We’ll then enjoy a cup of something warming at the Killington Sailing Association clubhouse nearby, where there’ll be a chance to hear from Mr Farron and a few others who’ve worked so hard to make the hydro a reality.
There’s no need to reserve a place if you’d just like to come to the unveiling of the plaque. However, it’s essential to book if you’d like to attend the reception, as space is very limited in the clubhouse:

Hydro update
The hydro at Killington Reservoir has now been generating power for just over two weeks. Generation began on 23 November, and we are delighted with its performance, even with the recent low rainfall.
We’ll be able to share some initial figures at the launch event.
Directions
Parking will be available at Killington Sailing Club (LA8 0NW) and it is a 10-15 min walk to the hydro from there.
